Some movies have staying power, remaining classics we watch, rewatch and rewatch again. Many classic American movies also become hits in other languages, captivating people from other cultures who also want to enjoy Hollywood at its finest. These seven movies fit the bill and are movies we want to see again and again across the globe.

Rear Window (1954)

A murder mystery, a love story, and a spy thriller all wrapped into one movie shot by filmmaker genius Alfred Hitchcock. This film stars classic Hollywood stars Jimmy Stewart and Grace Kelly, and was nominated for best picture.

Midnight Cowboy (1969)

This Oscar winning film reveals the gritty side of New York City, and stars acting legends Jon Voigt and Dustin Hoffman. Two down and out characters try to make it in the big city. It's a story that still gets played out in big cities all over the world today.

The French Connection (1971)

Many film critics argue that this movie, a story about a cop chasing down a drug lord, contains one of the best car chase scenes ever filmed.

The Godfather, Part 2 (1974)

The only sequel ever to win Best Picture, this film takes us back to turn of the century New York City and the quintessential American Dream story of an immigrant boy rising to power.

Annie Hall (1977)

Directed by and starring filmmaker Woody Allen, this movie is often considered his best work and a must-see for any Allen fan. The film also launched the career of actress Diane Keaton, who played the title role.

Moonstruck (1987)

A modern day "Romeo and Juliet," this film brings together two star-crossed lovers navigating tradition and families to find romance, telling a universal story of love found in unlikely situations.

As Good as It Gets (1997)

Both lead actors, Jack Nicholson, and Helen Hunt, won awards for their roles in this quirky romantic comedy that brings together two outcasts searching for connections in New York City.

These movies have crossed cultural and language divides to become global classics, which people enjoy watching again and again.
